We specialise in the comprehensive servicing of thrusters. With many years of experience and advanced workshop facilities, we provide support at every stage – from precise diagnostics to complex overhauls and regenerations of thrusters. Our offering is tailored to the needs of the marine industry, focusing on the reliability and optimum performance of ship propulsion equipment.

We provide full support for

Precise technical inspection of thrusters

Including checking of axial and  gear tooth backlash, precise assessment of the condition of the bevel gear teeth to identify even the smallest abnormalities. We also analyze oil samples to assess its condition.

Thruster overhauls

We offer three types of overhauls carried out both at the dock and at berth, tailored to the specific needs and service history of the thruster:

  • Major overhaul (10 years) – including replacement of seals, bearings and setting of necessary clearances, as well as propeller blades leakage and operational tests.
  • Intermediate overhaul (5 years) – replacement of key seals, detailed clearance check and leakage and function test.
  • Emergency overhaul – fault diagnosis and rapid replacement of damaged components such as shafts, gears, seals, or bearings. The setting of clearances and comprehensive leakage tests.

Reconditioning of propeller blades

We use modern reconditioning technologies, including welding and welding inserts, measuring blade geometry, balancing and polishing, which restores the original technical parameters of the propeller blades.

  • Comprehensive repairs in the workshop in Gdynia, including propeller transport and a full range of repair works.

Guarantee of quality and full documentation

Each stage of the work is subject to strict quality control. Our services are documented in detail with professional service reports that confirms reliability and technical precision.

FAQ -frequently asked questions

1. What does thruster servicing involve?

The service includes comprehensive handling of the equipment – from diagnostics and technical inspections to repairs and overhauls. We check, among other things, axial clearance, gearbox condition, tightness, and oil quality to ensure everything operates properly.

2. How often should thrusters be overhauled?

It depends on usage, but typically:
– an intermediate overhaul is carried out every 5 years,
– a major overhaul every 10 years,
– and in case of failure – an emergency repair.
Regular inspections help prevent costly downtime.

3. What is the difference between a major and an intermediate overhaul?

A major overhaul is more comprehensive – it includes, among other things, the replacement of bearings and seals, as well as full adjustment of clearances. An intermediate overhaul focuses on key components and condition checks, but is less invasive.

4. Can repairs be performed directly on board?

Yes. Many tasks are carried out on site – in port or while the vessel is at berth. We have mobile technical facilities, so the equipment does not always need to be dismantled and transported to a workshop.

5. What does thruster diagnostics include?

Diagnostics involves a detailed assessment of the equipment’s technical condition. We verify, among other things, axial clearances and gear backlash, the condition of bevel gear teeth, system tightness, and the overall condition of components. Oil analysis complements this process, allowing us to assess the level of wear of operating parts.

6. Is propeller blade refurbishment possible?

Yes, in many cases effective refurbishment of the blades is possible without the need for replacement. The process includes material rebuilding (e.g. by weld overlay), restoring proper geometry, balancing, and finishing. This makes it possible to restore operational parameters in line with the manufacturer’s requirements.

7. How does an emergency repair proceed?

An emergency repair begins with identifying the cause of the damage. Then, damaged components such as shafts, gearboxes, bearings, or seals are repaired or replaced. After completion, clearance adjustments as well as tightness and functional tests are carried out to confirm the equipment’s readiness for further operation.

8. Do you provide service documentation?

Yes. Every stage of the work is thoroughly documented. The client receives a service report confirming the scope of work performed and the technical condition of the equipment.

9. Where are major repairs carried out?

More complex overhauls are performed in our workshop in Gdynia, where we have full technical facilities, test stands, and the capability to transport propellers and components.

10. Why choose your service?

Because we combine experience with practical expertise. We have been operating for over 25 years, completed thousands of projects worldwide, and have our own workshop and mobile facilities. This allows us to work quickly, flexibly, and effectively — regardless of location.
